RFAS was an output of the qualitative research titled Exploring the unheard voices of rice farmers in Agusan del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines presented at the International Conference on Agricultural Research and Innovations (ICARI 2025) organized by ASSCAT, USM, and Province of Agusan del Sur.
In the said study, the researchers found out that the rice farmers do not record their expenses but they only have an assumptions that their cropping is successful or failure but as to how much is the success and failure they lack accurate figure.

Thus, the team with the CPA created a detailed accounting formula for rice farming based on the inputs from the farmers and from the existing related literatures. Later converted by the team with IT experts into what is now known as the Community-based Mobile App for Rice Farming Accounting System (RFAS).
This system is expected to assist the rice farmers, rice farming coordinators, municipal and provincial agriculturists, LGU officials, region and national agriculturists to arrive at a data-driven decision making for appropriate actions that would benefit the rice farming industry. This system is also developed to support the Soil's Health Program of the Province of Agusan del Sur by the good Congressman Adolph Edward G. Plaza.
When there is data, appropriate and prudent actions are afforded. Support RFAS for a smart and sustainable agriculture and food supply!
